Makita power tools is a company that was started back in 1915 in a city in Japan by the name of Anjo. In fact to this day, the company still calls this city that was built on land reclaimed from a marsh, and often referred to as the Denmark of japan its home.

The main offices for Makita USA are located in La Mirada California and their US manufacturing plant is in the state of Georgia. They also have more then 600 official distribution centers sprinkled around the country, and Makita has the distinction of being the only company that still manufactures mitre saws in the US.

Makita power tools are noted for their advanced motor designs that apply all the very latest technologies, combined with the most stringent inspection standards in the industry. In fact every motor that Makita makes must pass a minimum of 19 separate quality checks before it's cleared to be used in a power tool.
Makita also only uses heat treated shafts and gears that are cast and milled from premium grade steel, and they also only use certified 97% pure copper wire in their motors for optimal conductivity. Then each finished tool must pass a final three minute test run before it receives clearance for sale.
